Jaimie is the perfect pattern for a complete beginner - the bottoms are easy to fit, made from beginner-friendly fabric, and are gonna give you so much satisfaction, plus the confidence to move on to your next project. Make them up in either long trouser-style bottoms, or comfy shorts, and optional drawstring waist . They're a simple construction and there's a free video tutorial on Youtube for them too, so you won't get stuck. They're also in an extended size range to fit those very petite/young stitchers as well as plus sizes. For more experienced stitchers, they're a super quick and satisfying make too!

Why are these patterns so great? Not only do you get the pattern, but also full-colour step-by-step instructions with photographs, so you don't have to be a great pattern reader to be able to make a modern and stylish dress.  

Use light to medium weight woven fabrics, such as cotton lawn, cotton poplin, shirting, quilting weight cottons, flannel, double gauze or rayon/viscose (better for more experienced stitchers).

Fabric requirements: 

Shorts - 1-1.3m of 115cm or 150cm wide for all sizes

Trousers - 2.5m of 150cm wide for all sizes; 2.1m-3.1m of 115cm wide (see photo for individual size requirements)

You will also need matching thread, your low-waist measurement in 25mm wide elastic, 2 safety pins, a scrap of iron-on interfacing (for drawstring version only) and sewing machine and basic tools.
