Bach (1685-1750)
Description:
The second recording of Arnoncourt's "Brandenburg Concerto" made in 1981 has been re-released on analog LP, and it consistently recreates the image of Bach in the complete baroque language by eliminating the virtuosity of individual soloists and acrobatic ensembles as much as possible, and by clarifying the performance and interpretation of the thoroughly disciplined players. While the fundamentals of Arnoncourt's interpretation and beliefs remain the same as in his first recording with period instruments in 1964, he employs virtuoso players who are masterful with period instruments, and reflects in their playing a means of deepening the spiritual bond with Bach, and leaves us in a state of wonder and fresh surprise. This is a masterful performance that astonished us with fresh and surprising impressions. In 2021, the 5th anniversary of Arnoncourt's death, this masterpiece will be released on 180g analog LP in limited quantities. Warner Music Japan
