In late 2020, Crane Cams closed their doors. It was a sad day for 2.0 SOHC Neon owners, as this drastically reduced the number of camshafts available and totally killed off the big power cams for SOHC owners. Also that meant that no more Crane valve springs and titanium retainers for the SOHC were available.

We love the Neon, and we want to be able to continue to modify them, and support the aftermarket demand, so we decided to take action. We worked with a cam manufacturer to make us billet camshafts that have the exact same cam profiles as the Crane 10-20 grinds and we currently stock ALL grinds on our shelves. We also found and bought the last of all Crane SOHC valve springs and titanium retainers available. If you have a SOHC and think you'll ever want a camshaft, this could be your last opportunity to get one!

In the past when Crane was still in production, we offered camshafts and valve springs separately. However, due to the extremely low number of available springs we have left, we are ONLY offering them in packages. If we sold the springs separately,they would be hoarded and sold out in less than a week. Selling them as a package will get more people an opportunity to purchase a cam kit for their car. Once the valve springs are sold out, this would render the cams that REQUIRE springs useless. The Crane #10 profile does not need springs, it can be used with oem valve springs, however the #12-20 profiles recommend/ require need new valve springs. So, #10 is sold cam only, and the #12-20 profiles will be part of a package with valve springs. The Crane 18-20 profiles will come as a package with Crane springs, and Ferrea lash caps as they are required for use. The only add on option with this cam package, will be the discontinued Crane Titanium retainers. Once they are gone, the retainers will be removed from the listing. No other manufacturers titanium retainer will fit the crane valve springs. Be on the lookout in August 2021 for our MPX adjustable cam gear for the SOHC Neon!

This product page is a combined listing of the Crane camshaft profile grinds, as well as Comp Cams for the 2.0 SOHC. Explanation of the cams below.

• Crane #10 - upgrade for stock cars that need a mild increase over stock camshaft. About a 5-6 HP gain. No change in engine idle sound or cam lope. No springs required.
• Crane #12 - Excellent cam choice for automatic cars and mildly modified SOHC manual transmission cars. About a 10 HP change. Mild change in engine idle sound and cam lope. Valve springs required for camshaft
• Comp 200 - More aggressive than the Crane #12, this cam will give excellent mid range power and good top end power. Great cam choice for a automatic or daily driven manual. Valve springs required for camshaft
• Comp 400 - More aggressive than the Comp 400, this cam is more suited for manual transmission cars with lots of bolt on parts. Valve springs required for camshaft
• Crane #14 - This is only for manual cars or automatic cars that can be made to shift at very high RPMs. This cam gives nearly a 15 HP change in power near redline, you must have intake, headers, exhaust and all other mods. This camshaft gives a noticeable lumpy cam lope. Valve springs required for camshaft
• Crane #16 - Performance usage, drag race, good upper RPM HP, fr use with turbo, intercooler advised, high flowing cylinder head / intake / large exhaust advised, aftermarket PCM required, 12.0+ minimum compression ration required. Valve springs required for camshaft
• Crane #18 - Competition only, radical drag race,good upper RPM HP, turbo with intercooler, high flowing cylinder head/intake/large exhaust advised aftermarket ECM required,12.0+ minimum compression ratio required. Valve springs and lash caps required for camshaft
• Crane #20 - Competition only, radical drag race,good high RPM HP, turbo with intercooler, high flowing cylinder head/intake/large exhaust advised aftermarket ECM required,12.0+ minimum compression ratio required. Valve springs and lash caps required for camshaft
