Budding photographer Josie Saint-Martin, who has moved constantly with her single mother, returns to her historic New England hometown to run the family bookstore. She plans to move to the opposite coast, but a run-in with Lucky Karras, the town's rebellious bad boy and her former best friend, wasn't part of the plan. After a disastrous pool party where Lucky takes the blame for Josie’s mistake, she discovers that both have changed.
