Distillation Column Equipment summary

'Distillation Column only' contains one 4" x 6" reducer to connect to the 1.5BBL and larger 5-in-1 lid; four 4" x 3" sight glass tee; one 4" dephlegmator; one shotgun condenser and one parrot with gaskets, clamps and connectors. Comes with one 4" stainless steel mesh disc for holding copper mesh in the vertical column for reflux and sulfur scrubbing (copper mesh is not included but can be purchased from suppliers such as Lee Valley and Amazon). It is recommended to place the mesh at the bottom of the second sight glass, and to use the first sight glass to watch for 'burping' (proteins and other particulate getting carried up into the column by too vigorous a boil). Copper mesh provides far more surface area for contact with the rising vapor than a traditional plate and cap, although those can be used if desired. Plates and caps are not included with this assembly but can be purchased separately from suppliers online.

'Distillation Column with hoses' contains the hardware listed above, as well as four 1.5" TC x 1/2" nipples (to fit into the condenser and dephlegmator) as well as three pieces of high temperature braided silicone hose for cooling water. An 8' cold water feed hose with 1.5" TC on one end and a female garden hose attachment on the other (can be connected to standard garden hose thread), a 2' hose with 1.5" TC on both ends to connect the shotgun condenser to the dephlegmator, and a 10' length with 1.5" TC on one end, and open on the other, to run waste water to a drain (or collection tank for future use); custom lengths of drain hose can be requested.
