A fascinating antique brass field microscope presented in its original fitted mahogany case and accompanied by documented provenance linking it to James Robertson Justice during his student years at University College London.

The microscope features a lacquered brass body with black enamelled stage and fittings, retaining the elegant and practical design typical of late Victorian and Edwardian portable scientific instruments. The instrument remains in good working order, with smooth adjustment and an attractive untouched patina developed over many decades.

Included with the microscope is a detailed provenance record explaining its ownership history. According to the accompanying documentation, the microscope belonged to James Robertson Justice and was later gifted to science teacher George Millar Thornton.
