Vintage Ersari rug with a bold row of octagonal gul motifs across a saturated madder-red field, framed by dense geometric borders in deep charcoal/black. It’s a proper statement piece for old money / heritage interiors and looks especially good layered with dark wood, brass and paintings for that castlecore / dark academia vibe.

Attribution: Ersari Turkmen, likely Northern Afghanistan / Amu Darya region, mid 20th century. Hand-knotted construction with a wool pile on a woven foundation, with that slightly earthy, matte finish you want in a tribal rug.

Condition: overall presentable with attractive age and character. There is visible wear/abrasion and colour variation to areas of the field and borders (most noticeable to the left side in the photos), along with some edge/fringe wear consistent with use over time.
